Neopolitan, the Owl

After days and hours.. the Owl Pinata... is finished! ( Aside from the fact that I was so BRILLIANT as to forget to create a way for him to be strung from the ceiling when we first started .... I'll fix that...)
HERE HE IS!
( Me and my sister named him Neopolitan cause of all the colours he is, we call him Neo for short. )

A BIG THANKS TO JEN BENNETT AND AUBREY EASTHOPE-LANZ FOR ALL THE HELP AND WORK THAT WENT INTO CREATING THIS BEAUTIFUL CREATURE!
(Too bad we're gonna smash his face off...)

Update on Dresses

Grandma Roberts came down this last weekend and did some fitting for me, Jen and Gina. They are coming along nicely!! Even though they are pink.... I think we'll look Hawt!! lol!!
And per the conclusion we came to over the FaceBook conference, all dresses will have the quarter sleeves... (Sorry G)
As for shoes, please find white flats! And be on the look out for the requested jelwery, whic is as follows:

  • A LONG necklace ( Should reach your boobs ;)  )
  • matching braceletes
  • Pearl type earrings, or sparkly ones, Dangly earrings may not look as nice but... just bring a few pairs and we will all coordinate!
Necklaces we would like to match so we are still looking. If you happen to find some that you think will work please send a picture to either my phone, or this Blog's email. Or sending it over Facebook will work as well.

DIY Bridal Shower

Slowly but surely, Meg's Bridal Shower is coming together nicely. Thanks to the play I was involved in I had some extra time to play around with some crafts and get more decorations finished, most importantly, the invitations finished!!! I Made about 50 invitations, 18 Paper PomPom Flowers, painted over 100 little rocks and 12 wooden blocks, and made an Owl Pinata!!

**** SIDENOTE: Just decided Meg's Bridal Shower should be called a Bird-al Shower , or more simply, a Bird Bath! ****

Here are some pictures of the decorations:

A Big Thank You to Gina Prima for Bringing The Balloons and Table Cloths!!

"A Little Birdie Told Me...." : Bridal Shower

While making a quick trip into the lovely Dollar Store to pick up some recipe cards to study for my final exam, I came across some of the cutest Owl and Polka dot cupcake papers.... *DING!* Inspriation!

MEG'S BRIDAL SHOWER THEME!

I then continued to scavenge through the low priced merchandise and found plenty more cute owl products and polka dotted things.
PERFECT!!! Having a theme sure does help with decorating the party!

I have been on Pinterest the last few days trying to find as much decorating tips that I could and let me tell you, this Bridal Shower is going to be a 'Hoot!' :)
Here's a few sneak peaks at a couple ideas I found:

MEG IS 23 !!!!!!!!!!

We celebrated Meg's Birthday on the 14th with a surprise party that really threw her for a spin! She completely had no idea! We even had a special surprise waiting for her, wrapped up in streamers:

                                                                 JENNI !!

Good work Derek for getting this thrown together!! Brownie Points! ;)

Bridesmaid Dresses

We spent a day in Calgary and got the fabric for our wonderful bridesmaid dresses!  Sam's Step-Grandmother has volunteered her services to fashion the dresses which saves us a big chunk of change, since our original budget was about $100.00/dress. But the fabric alone for all 5 dresses came to (approx.)$120.00 ! So now we just pay for the time they take to be made. Just in fabric each dress is about $23.00, please pay that amount to Sam ( and Meg ) since they bought the fabrics and thread needed. Next we found the belts we wanted for the dresses, those were 2/$15, so $7.50/belt. We are still on the hunt for the jewelry we want, they are going to be long necklaces. You will be in charge of providing your own earrings, bracelets, and rings.
The dresses are pink ( light pink of course to match meg's colors) the underlayer is more of a peach -pink though, and the belts are white, and meg wants white flats, NO TOE! Toes must be covered!! We were going to attempt to find matching shoes but this is becoming a hard task so we are leaving that up to you as well. So Shoes and extra jewelry is up to each girl. And for the wonderful grandmother we are going to throw together some money and get her a giftcard and if everyone could also write her a card or something to show how much we appreciate her time and efforts that would be fabulous!
